On the weekend of July 24th, a Friday, Saturday and Sunday, I set up my booth at the Tulsa Home and Garden Show. I have never experienced anything like this. Probably 250 people that stopped by the booth picked up a brochure and looked it over and took it home with them. I am expecting some great results from that. I had about 50 that I talked to personally over the three day period of which one lady gave me all the information and I called her and have an appointment this weekend. Another one was a man with five bypasses last month and there is nothing we can do with him but his wife is interested in coverage. Then there was a couple with a child with Autism that I know we can cover thru our substandard broker - anticipating a $500 commission there. I sold one disability policy on an older gentleman. Another couple said "We have been looking for life insurance, filled out a card." I have appointment with them tonight. Then a man with high blood pressure but controlled walked by and that will turn into $100,000 permanent policy with a terrific commission. All the remaining cards filled out were standard type risks and I cannot tell you how pleased I am with the overall results. Thank you Randy Murray and The American Insurance Institute. I am scheduled to participate in the next State Fair here in Tulsa and can't wait and am looking at other venues like the horse sale at the stock yards , a gun show, and a flower show. .This is the easiest way of selling life insurance I have ever seen and the best thing is this is people with money, middle to upper middle income citizens that want to buy and are nice.

Randy, since the start of our association in March of this year, I have been so excited every day I get out of bed. I have set up and manned 5 booths during the week and on weekends and to say I am happy about the results would be an understatement. The best night I had, I made five sales for approximately $2,200 in annual premium. Not bad for a few hours handing out brochures. As you know Randy, we began with The American Insurance Institute in September of '08. Since then we have put up and manned an Affordable Life Display Booth every Thursday afternoon. The worst day I ever had was only getting five people to fill out cards and tell me they want to buy life insurance but that is only a three hour period. My best day was ten cards and 8 sales and $12,443.40 in first year commission. That was at the end of April of this year. You can bet I will be at my booth next April and every April thereafter in the future. Since the first of the year I have signed up 37 new agencies here in southern California. I knew I could build an agency with you and your marketing programs and it is making my dream come true of building an agency. Next month we are setting up at The Los Angeles County Fair. They expect 1.4 million visitors and it will last 23 days. I have each day taken up by one of my agents. What a great way to spend your evenings and build at the same time. I am having fun for the first time in this life insurance business so I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I began with the American Insurance Institute and Randy Murray and his partner Bryan Page just one month ago, June '09. I looked over all the different marketing plans offered by Mr. Murray and settled in on the Display Booth program because it draws people to you, you don't have to be hassling people, you don't have to come up with a fancy expression....you have an effective marketing brochure displayed by the booth that works. People know exactly what your presentation is without saying a word. They know exactly what you sell and how much it cost and you don't have to have any skill to sell insurance, the brochure sells the people for you. Yes, only one in a hundred actually stops at your booth and asks questions, picks up a brochure, asks to buy life insurance but that is all you need. So far, I have set up my booth four weekends specifically at Saturday’s market in Middletown, Pennsylvania and Leesport, PA farmers market. Who would have ever thought that people buying groceries would also buy life insurance? Between the four weekends, I have picked up 15 cards and made 6 sales and I still have more appointments to come, four this coming weekend. The total commissions generated are about $4,500 with more to come. With a little more practice, I see no reason why I can't double or triple this in the future. The reason I like this method of marketing is because I have no one to blame if I am not successful. There is no confusion with other agents...all the leads and sales I generate are mine.

The first three weeks I had a display booth in Lodi, California at a farmers market and really didn't do that well. Lodi was off the beaten path and not many people really came there. It is important I learned you are on the main "drag" where a market is. Side streets just do not work well I easily found out. So I moved to Stockton , California to downtown to the farmers market and had a much better spot between the watermelons and the tomatoes and did much, much better. When the traffic slowed down, I just went and busted open a melon and ate my lunch. The first week I got 5 leads and sold two and commission about $1,500. The second week I got 7 leads and 5 appointments with $4400 annual premium. This last week I only got 2 but one was 78 and other 77 year old..and the commission is over $2000. I will never sell life insurance another way the rest of my life...I make money and make friends...what a combination. By the way, I don't spend all weekend at my booth, it only is open from 9 - 2 on Fridays.....not bad commission for 5 hours once a week. I am starting another booth at a farmers market closer to Sacramento in two weeks. I wish I had known how to do this 40 years ago....
